AU to international community: Support UNAMID |

The chairman of the African Union Commission, Jean Ping, stressed that the international community should fulfill its commitments to provide logistics and funds for the UNAMID peacekeepers in Darfur, and supporting the efforts of the Joint Chief Mediator Djibril Bassole to complete for a permanent political solution in Darfur.
Speaking to the press after meeting with President Al-Bashir at the Republican Palace yesterday, Jean Ping said that the ICC’s decision will complicate the situation in Darfur and affect the peace process in the region.
