Memorial prayer of late Garang in Wau PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 30 July 2008
Citizens in Wau town of Western Bahr el-Ghazal gathered at Saint Mary Cathedral Church on Tuesday for a memorial prayer of the late First Vice President of the Republic of Sudan and President of the Government of South Sudan, Dr. John Garang de Mabior. The Prayers brought together citizens from the Muslim and Christian community in Wau and the State Government officials.

The Governor of Western Bahr el-Ghazal State, Lt. Gen. Mark Nyipuoch Ubong, on the occasion urged the citizens to follow the vision of Dr John Garang.

Speaking for the first time on the indictment of President Bashir by the International Criminal Court (ICC), Governor Ubong said that if the indictment obstructs peace then it is rejected.
