Diplomatic moves in Khartoum and New York PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 28 July 2008
Sudan is witnessing diplomatic moves to suspend the indictment of President Omer Al-Bashir by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Efforts are also said to be underway among members of the UN Security to suspend the indictment.

Sudan’s Foreign Minister, Deng Alor, said that he submitted to President Al-Bashir a written proposal from France to resolve the crisis between Sudan and the ICC, while briefing the president about his visit to France and Britain.

Supporters of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) welcomed the outcome of the movement’s political bureau meeting in Juba regarding preparations for the upcoming elections.

Speaking to Miraya FM some of the supporters welcomed the nomination of the First Vice President Salva Kiir Mayardit to compete in the Presidential elections.
