The Sudan Armed Forces and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement are expected to hand over the task of security in Abyei to the Joint Integrated Unit JIUs today.
The Regional Coordinator of the United Nations in South Sudan Mr. David Grisly told Miraya Fm in Wau town that he is on his way to Abyei to attend that handing over.
Mr. Grisly added that Southern Sudan Police are been trained in Agok area and will be deployed in Abyei within ten days.
These arrangements come in the implementation of the Abyei Road Map Agreement signed recently to end the crises in the oil-rich region.
