Addressing thousands of people in Nyala, southern Darfur on Wednesday, President Omer Al-Bashir issued a decree pardoning all the children who have been accused of involvement in the attack on Omdruman in May.
Al-Bashir said the children will be provided health and educational services. He called upon the armed movements in Darfur to start peace initiatives.
And, while in northern Darfur, President Al-Bashir said he is not intimidated by the International Criminal Court (ICC) indictment.
He said the ICC aims to divert government's development efforts, and finding peaceful solutions to the five year Darfur crisis. He said anti Sudanese government elements are looking for a government which is affiliated to them.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement -Abdul Wahid Mohamed Al-Nur has issued a statement denouncing President Al-Bashir's visit to Darfur.
And, on the other hand, the Secretary General of the Sudan Peoples Liberation Movement, Pagan Amum, has urged the Government of National Unity to cooperate with the ICC.
Speaking to Miraya FM, Amum said that the Sudan / ICC crisis should be solved through the legal process. He said the Darfur problem should be resolved to realize comprehensive peace in Sudan.
And Amum denied that he has been dismissed from his position as the Minister of Cabinet Affairs in the Government of National Unity.
Pagan Amum has been in the spotlight for saying Sudan is a "failed and corrupt State", which statement fueled speculation that he was due to be relieved of his position as minister.
Amum said it is the media which has been exaggerating the story about the dismissal.
