The Arab Foreign Ministers are meeting in Cairo today to state their position regarding the request of the ICC General Prosecutor, Luis Moreno Ocampo, to arrest President Al-Bashir.
In a related progress, Vice President Ali Osman Taha is visiting Libya today to discuss the Sudanese-ICC crisis with President Mummer al Qaddafi. On his part, Lt. General Salva Kiir Mayardit has warned in a press release that the move of the International Criminal Court to arrest President Al-Bashir will undermine the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, democratic transformation, and the running of timely elections.
Kiir added that the Government of National Unity should reach an understanding with the international community over the legal effects of the issue. He called for a roadmap to resolve the Darfur crisis in one week.
