UNAMID receives China’s last batch of troops PDF Print E-mail

The joint United Nations/African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) will receive China’s last batch of troops tomorrow.  The mission’s Spokeswoman Josephine Guerrero confirmed to Miraya FM that a batch of one hundred and seventy five (175) Chinese military engineers will arrive in Niyala town tomorrow.
 
  
On the other hand, China renewed its rejection of the request made by the ICC Chief Prosecutor to arrest President Omer Al-Bashir.
 
The Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Liu Jianchao asked the International Criminal Court to work in favor of stability in Sudan.
 
 
In another development Several African countries announced their participation in the upcoming ministerial emergency meeting called by the African Union Peace and Security Council.The meeting is scheduled to take place by the end of the current week to discuss the serious step taken by the International Criminal Court against Sudan.
 
Commissioner of the African Union’s Peace and Security Council Mr. Ramadan Al-Amamra, revealed that there are ongoing consultations and coordination between the Union and Sudan.
