The Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM-Abdel Wahid Mohammed Al-Nour faction) said that it is ready to start peace talks with the Sudanese government to resolve the Darfur problems.
The statement came only one day after the Sudanese government accepted the British initiative to host the Darfur peace talks.
However, the spokesman of the SLM-Al-Nur’s Faction, Daud Bolad, told Miraya FM that before the start of any talks with the Sudanese government the international forces to Darfur should first be fully deployed.
The spokesman of the United Resistance Front, Monsur Arabab Younis, meanwhile told Miraya FM that the Front welcomes the British initiative.
However, Mr. Younis said that the negotiations should include the Libyan, and Chadian initiatives, as well as the United Nations and the African Union’s initiatives.
The Sudanese government earlier welcomed the British initiative to the host Darfur peace talks.
