An official from the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) said that the SPLM party “will not accept its leaders to be targeted politically."
The Deputy Secretary General of the SPLM for Northern Sector, Yasir Arman, said that “the National Congress party has to stop targeting leaders of the SPLM politically."
Reacting to question on the formation of a commission to investigate the Cabinet Affairs Minister Pagan Amum, Mr. Arman said that “this step is going to produce negative relations” between the National Congress Party and the SPLM.
On Wednesday, media reports revealed that President Omer Al-Bashir lifted the immunity of Pagan Amum who is also the Secretary General of the SPLM.
Arman who arrived in Juba together with other top SPLM officials said that they are expected to meet with the Chairman of the party Salva Kiir Mayardit to address this “very crucial issue."
