G8 summit begins with focus on Africa |

The Group of Eight leaders have begun their annual summit in the northern Japanese Island of Hokkaido.
Some of the issues in the summit's agenda include increasing aid to Africa.
The American President George W.Bush called during a joint press conference with Japanese Foreign Minister for an urgent action from the G8 because of the deteriorating situation in Africa.
Leaders of Algeria, Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania have been invited to attend the summit.
