Southern Legislative Assembly urges the ICC to stop pursuing the LRA leaders PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 03 July 2008
The Southern Sudan Legislative Assembly has called on the International Criminal Court to stop pursuing the Lord’s Resistance Army leader Joseph Kony and two of his comrades.

The three men are wanted by the ICC for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity in northern Uganda.

The Speaker of the Assembly James Wani Igga said the petition was raised in order to facilitate the mediation sponsored by the Government of Southern Sudan to reach a comprehensive peace between the Ugandan Government and LRA rebels.
