Seven people killed in airplane crash PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 28 June 2008

Seven people, including four foreigners, died and one crew member survived when a cargo plane works for Juba Air crashed on Friday near Malakal town in the Upper Nile State.

Baha Eddine Akasha of the Juba Air’s management told Miraya FM that the Antinov cargo plane crashed due to bad weather.

He said that the pilot lost contact with the air traffic control before the plane fell down.

Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) dispatched a team to the crash scene to probe the incident.

The spokesman of the CAA, Abdul-Hafiz Abdul-Raheem, told reporters they predict bad weather to be the reason behind the crash. There have been several plane crashes during this year resulting in a considerable number of casualties.
