Deployment of JIUs batallion in Abyei going according to roadmap, JDB says |

The Joint Defense Board (JDB) said that the initial deployment of the Joint Integrated Units (JIUs) battalion to Abyei is going according to the Abyei roadmap.
The Commander of the JIUs Valentino Tokmac earlier said that the deployment of around 600 soldiers to Abyei was delayed due to logistic challenges. Speaking to Miraya FM, the Spokesman of the JDB, Major General Bior Ajang, said that the battalion which is composed of 320 soldiers from the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) and 300 from the Sudan Armed Forces will complete its deployment to Abyei by the end of this month. The Spokesperson of the Sudanese Foreign Ministry,Ali Al-Sadiq, meanwhile said that it is expected that the Sudanese-US talks will resume after the implementation of the Abyei roadmap.
