Thursday, 12 June 2008

The Director of the Khartoum Airport, Yousif Ibrahim, estimated that the number of the missing persons in the Sudanese plane crash is only eight.

He said the number of the survivors rose to one hundred and seventy people while the death toll is not more than thirty. He added that flights have resumed since today morning.

The crashed plane went into flames again on Wednesday during removal of its wreckage from the landing strip. In result, the air aviation in the airport was stopped till yesterday evening. Earlier, the National Interim Assembly said that it set up a committee to probe the incident.

Speaking to Miraya FM, the Chairman of the Assembly’s Transport Committee, Sadiq Al-Hindi, said that the parliament will summon the concerned ministers to set precautionary measures.
