The government of the Warrap State said that it has made new arrangements to end the insecurity in the greater Bahr el Ghazal States.
In an exclusive interview with Miraya FM, the governor of the Warrap State, Tor Deng, said that the arrangements included the disarmament of the people in the area.
About one thousand guns have meanwhile been collected from the Murle community in Pibor County of the Jonglei State in an on-going disarmament exercise under the leadership of Sultan Ismael Kony, the Southern Sudan Presidential Advisor on Peace and Reconciliation.
Speaking to Miraya FM about the exercise which started two weeks ago, Mohamed Abdorobo, of the President’s Peace Office in Juba, said that the exercise is going on smoothly in all the Payams of the Pibor County.
Mr. Abdorobo said residents and local chiefs have responded positively to the disarmament, demobilization and re-integration exercise.
