Wednesday, 11 June 2008

The number of the people killed in a Sudanese Airbus passenger plane crashed in Khartoum on Tuesday has risen to 30 people.

Two hundred and three people were on board the plane which crashed shortly after landing.

The Civil Aviation Authorities said that one hundred passengers escaped the accident while others are reported missing.

Before landing, the plane was diverted to Port Sudan because of bad weather conditions.

The Khartoum Airport has been opened after being closed after the crash.

The spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Corporation, Abdel Hafiz Abdul Rahim, told Miraya FM that an investigation committee will be formed to probe the incident.
