Illegal arms in Aweil, authorities say |

Northern Bahr el Ghazal State said that over one hundred and fifty arms have been collected during a one day search in Aweil Town.
The Minister of Information and Communications in the State, Engineer Unguec Jonkor Unguec told Miraya FM from that some of the collected arms belong to elements of Sudan Armed Forces who failed to submit their arms to the main arsenal.
Engineer Unguec said that some of the arms were found hidden in toilets and bathrooms in residential areas in Aweil Town.
He added that investigations are being carried out on the people who unlawfully kept arms in their houses.
The Minister said that the Police, Army and other security organs are responsible for the protection people.
He added that there is still suspicion that more arms are being owned illegally in Aweil and anyone found owning arms illegally would be dealt with by the law.
