The UN Security Council delegation visiting Sudan concluded its visit to the Al-Fashir town of the Northern Darfur State.
This is the third day of the visiting delegation to the country. The delegation met the officials of the United Nations/African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) in Al-Fashir, visited displaced camps, and met the governor of the State, Osman Mohammed Yousif Kibir.
Mr. Kibir told the UN Security Council delegation that the situation in Darfur is improving.
He urged the international organizations to engage on dialogue rather than exerting political pressure.
The UK Ambassador to the UN Security Council, John Sawers, meanwhile demanded from the Darfur Authorities to ease aid operations and the deployment of the UN/African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) troops in the region.
Mr. Sawers said he hope the Sudanese government will cooperate with the International Criminal Court (ICC) on handing over the accused government personnel to the Court.
