Salva Kiir elected Chairman of the SPLM |

The delegates to the SPLM Second National Convention elected President Salva Kiir as the Chairman of the party unopposed after Altayeb Musa Osman withdrew his candidature.
Speaking to delegates after he was sworn in last night as the Chairperson of SPLM, President Salva Kiir urged the SPLM to be united in order to win the next year’s election.
He reiterated that he will ensure that CPA is implemented to the expectation of the people of Sudan. President Salva Kiir added he is the leader of the marginalized people in Sudan.
Meanwhile, over 300 members of the National Liberation Council from all States in the Sudan were also elected. The members of National Liberation Council will elect the 3 Deputies to the Chairperson and the Secretary General of the party Wednesday morning.
