SPLM Convention elects the movement’s leadership today PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 20 May 2008
The SPLM Second National Convention is expected to elect the movement’s Chairman, the three Deputies and the Secretary General today.  On Monday, the convention postponed the election for more deliberations on the nominees and the constitution.

In Sunday’s session, the convention added 25 seats to the original 250 members of SPLM National Liberation Council.

The delegates also approved an amendment to the number of the Political Bureau’s members to become 27 instead of 21 members, including the SPLM Chairman and his three Deputies.

The current SPLM Secretary General, Pagan Amum said that there are no disagreements within the movement.

The Deputy Chairman of the SPLM-north sector, Yasir Arman, pointed out that disagreement within the movement is a natural phenomenon.
