The Justice and Equality Movement criticized the condemnation of the Omdurman attacks by the international community.
Jibril Ibrahim, a leading member in the movement, told Miraya FM that the international community is using double standards in dealing with the issue.
Mr. Ibrahim also urged the international community to put more efforts to resolve the crisis. Mr. Ibrahim also disregarded government’s decision of suspending the negotiations with the Justice and Equality Movement.
In an exclusive interview with Miraya FM he said that the movement cannot be by passed in any attempt to realize peace in Darfur. Mr. Ibrahim added that the Justice and Equality movement is a prominent political and military movement in the region.
The Sudanese government earlier said that it decided to suspend peace talks with the Justice and Equality Movement after the Omdurman events. Last Saturday the Justice and Equality Movement headed by Dr. Khalil Ibrahim launched an attack on Omdurman.
In an exclusive interview with Miraya FM, the Spokesperson of the Sudanese Foreign Ministry, Ali Al-Sadiq, said that the government decided to fight the Justice and Equality Movement. Mr. Sadiq said that the government will consult with the international community regarding negotiations with the other Darfur armed movements.
