Salva Kiir & Minnawi condemn JEM attacks |

The First vice President and President of the government of southern Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, condemned the attacks carried out by the Justice and Equality Movement in Omdruman on Saturday.
First vice President and President of the government of southern Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, also announced the suspension of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) Second National Convention which was suppose to start today in Juba. The Convention is expected to take place on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Senior Assistant to the President and leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement, Mini Arco Minnawi, condemned the military actions carried out by the Justice and Equality Movement on Saturday. Mr. Minnawi described the operation as uncalculated adventures. He called on the leader of the Justice and Equality Movement, Dr. Khalil Ibrahim, to reason and stops such military operations.
The Authorities of Northern Darfur State announced curfew in Al-Fashir town starting from 7 PM to 7 AM. The Governor of the Northern Darfur State, Mohammed Osman Kibir, said that these measures were taken to stop expected reactions from the Darfur armed movements after the attacks of Omdruman by the Justice and Equality Movement.
The Sudan Armed Forces earlier said that it repulsed and chased the Justice and Equality Movement which entered Khartoum on Saturday. The Armed Forces said that it killed and arrested a number of the Justice and Equality Movement elements. The Director of the Spokesperson of the Sudan Armed Forces, Lt. Colonel Swarmi Khalid, said that the Justice and Equality Movement entered Omdruman in separate groups.
The Sudan National Television reported that the vehicle in which the leader of the Justice and Equality Movement Dr. Khalil Ibrahim was traveling in had been destroyed. Dr. Ibrahim is reportedly to be leading the operations in Omdruman. He is reported to be hiding somewhere in the area.
The Commissioner of the Omdruman Locality said that about 85 vehicles of the Justice and Equality Movement has been captured and 100 arrested.
