Khartoum under curfew 5PM to 6 AM PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 10 May 2008
The Federal Ministry of Interior announced a curfew in the Khartoum State starting from 5PM this evening to 6 AM in the morning.  The Ministry said that the curfew was put into action due to the entrance of some of the Justice and Equality Movement into the Khartoum State.

The US Embassy in Khartoum meanwhile urged its citizens not to travel to Sudan after the Sudan Armed Forces released a statement saying that elements of the Justice and Equality Movement entered Khartoum.

The Public Diplomatic Officer in the US Embassy in Khartoum, Walter Braunholer, told Miraya FM that these procedures were taken for the protection of the American nationals and it might continue for months.
