SAF confronts JEM in Northern Kordofan |

The Sudan Armed Forces said that it had repulsed attacks of the Justice and Equality Movement group of Dr. Khalil Ibrahim in the areas of Sudry and Jabra Sheikh in Northern Kordofan State.
In a released statement, the Sudan Armed Forces said that it also repulsed attacks of the Chadian Forces in the border area of Keshkesh.
In Khartoum, there is a security alert where individuals and vehicles are being searched by the police and security forces.
The Secretary of Foreign Relations in the Justice and Equality Movement, Haroun Abdul-Hameed, denied to Miraya FM that the movement had clashed with the Sudan Armed Forces.
The US Embassy in Khartoum meanwhile urged its citizens not to travel to Sudan after the Sudan Armed Forces released a statement saying that elements of the Justice and Equality Movement entered Khartoum.
The Public Diplomatic Officer in the US Embassy in Khartoum, Walter Braunholer, told Miraya FM that these procedures were taken for the protection of the American nationals and it might continue for months.
