An employee working for the Sudan Atomic Energy Commission (SAEC) in Melut town of the Upper Nile State told the UN Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) that a highly radioactive tool, which belongs to oil company PETRODAR, was stolen from the company’s storage last week.
The ordinance which resembles a gas cylinder is said to be highly contaminated and could cause harm to the persons who come into contact with it.
An UNMIS staff who contacted Miraya FM Radio from Melut said that the SAEC employee wanted to caution the local people against touching or approaching any suspect object which bears the description.
