Security sources said that the Sudan Armed Forces and the respective authorities are on a maximum security alert in Northern Darfur State and west Omdruman, in Khartoum on what they said “against operations of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM)”.
The Sudan Armed Forces earlier said that it is monitoring the movement by the group JEM led by Dr. Khalil Ibarhim in an attempt to enter Khartoum.
The Secretary of Foreign Relations in the JEM, Haroun Abdul-Hameed, denied any intention to enter the Khartoum State in order to sabotage its constructions.
Mr. Hameed told Miraya FM that such actions are not in accordance with the principles of the movement.
He accused the government of making this up to limit freedoms, as he said.
The Sudan Armed Forces urged the public to report any suspicious movement.
