The Secretary of Foreign Relations in the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), Haroun Abdul-Hameed, denied any intention to enter Khartoum State and sabotage the constructions there.
Mr. Hameed told Miraya FM that such actions are not in accordance with the principles of the movement. He accused the government of making this up to limit freedoms, as he said.
The Sudan Armed Forces earlier said that it monitored the movement of some JEM groups led by Dr. Khalil Ibarhim in an attempt to enter Khartoum.
The Armed Forces said in a statement that such movements are aimed to destabilize Darfur’s security. It urged the public to report any suspicious movement.
