The enumerators in Juba, the capital of Central Equatoria State are facing transport problems.
A field officer in northern Bari payam, Lucy Charles Juwa, said that many people in Juba payam have not been counted till now because there are not enough vehicles to transport the enumerators.
Speaking to Miraya FM, Mrs. Charles added that they are also short of enumerators in Juba payam. However, she said that some of the enumerators are given motorcycles to help them do their duties.
Mrs. Charles Juwa also stated that the Census exercise in Juba is generally going on smoothly. But the census exercise in Magwi County, Eastern Equatoria State stopped because the county is out of Census materials. The Census Coordinator in the Country, Onen Philip, said that is because of the sudden arrival of the returnees and the extended family structure that requires more than one questionnaire paper for each family.
Speaking to Miraya from Torit, the capital of Eastern Equatoria State, he added that only half of the questionnaire papers were delivered to the county. He said that the local population got very angry when they realized they were not going to be counted. However, Onen Philip pointed out that he is in Torit to seek assistance and get new supplies.
