Abyei calms in the wake of violence |

Officials from Abyei said that calm had returned to the region after the violent events that took place during the past two days, however, there is caution is still among the citizens.
They confirmed that the fighting stopped after the intervention of men of the civil administration and leaders of the joint forces.
The political supervisor of the area by the SPLM Edward Lino told Miraya FM that the process of counting dead and wounded from the Popular Army is still going on, he accused the armed forces of arming and pushing the Misseriya to fight the SPLA in the region.
For his part, President of the Movement for the Liberation of Abyei Mohamed Ahmed Ansari stressed to Miraya FM that the number of dead from the Misseriya reached nineteen people in the clashes that occurred in Alkharasana and Abyie. He pointed out that big numbers of the Misseriya are still waiting in the area as a precaution against any possible attack.
