Census activities have come to a standstill in Kak Payam of Rumbek North following an attack by the Luach community of Warrap state last Tuesday in pretext to retrieve cattle looted by the Dinka Payam during the March 2008 sectional fighting.
In an exclusive interview with Miraya FM’s reporter in Rumbek, Census Field Supervisor for Kak Payam, Martin Manyiel Wugol, said that the attack took place at 6:30 am where Census materials including twelve boxes of short questionnaires, and personal belongings with their monies were burnt.
Mr.Wugol did not disclose the number of casualties, but said that the SPLA forces were deployed in the area.
