A workshop on democracy targeting political parties was organized in Malakal, Upper Nile State. Addressing the workshop, State Minster of Parliamentary Affairs, Buruach Uhich Akoloton, said that the workshop falls within the preparation for conducting a free and fair election. Akoloton added that the workshop is to highlight the importance of peace relations.

He said the session will encourage political parties to create dialogue and assist each other, should a need to consolidate political positions arise.

The workshop is organized by the Republican International Institute in collaboration with the UN Mission in Sudan (UNMIS) and the United Nations Development Fund  (UNDP).
