Sudan's Railway Corporation launched on Monday a rail line that extends from Khartoum to Shajara. The train will stop in five stations, begining from Shajara Junub – Khartoum and terminates near the railway buildings in Khartoum: estimated travel time from start to end is 35 minutes. The train is scheduled to run four times daily, twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon. The journey will cost 50 piasters per commuter
Director of the Central Region at the Sudanese Railway Corporation, Saddiq Gismalla, told Miraya FM that plans are underway to import modern and developed trains from China and other developed countries to extend the railway routes to other areas.
