Endurance Idahor's body arrives in Lagos

In the sports news, the body of late Nigerian footballer, Endurance Idahor, has arrived in Lagos the Nigerian Capital, where it was received by family members and representatives from the Sudanese Embassy in Nigeria. The body was later transferred from Lagos to his hometown, Benin, where he will be buried after one month, according to their culture and customs.

Idahor died of sudden circulatory failure, Mortuary Director says

The Director of Mortuary in Omdurman Hospital, Dr. Jamal Yousif, said that Al Merrikh’s Nigerian player, Andrews Idahor, has died of sudden circulatory failure and heart attack. Speaking to Miraya FM after autopsy, Yousif said that the deceased died following efforts he made before collapsing, denying that the player was hit.

Nigerian striker Worgu to leave Al Merreikh by end of year

Nigerian footballer, Stephen Worgu, said he will quit his Sudanese club El Merreikh by December citing 'intimidation' and 'cultural difficulties' as reasons for his decision. He further denied plans to join any other African club. The announcement came during an interview with Nigerian sports radio station Brila FM this week.

Al Merrikh plays Ethiopia's San George in African Football Clubs Championship

Al Merrikh will host San George of Ethiopia in a second-leg match at Omdurman stadium at eight o'clock Saturday evening. The preliminary match is part of the African Football Clubs Championship. Moroccan star, Abdul Karim Al Nifthi and three Nigerain players: Wargo, Idahor and Cletchy, will be fielded in addition to local players.

The first-leg match, played two weeks ago in Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa, between the two teams ended with a 1-1 draw.

Sudan's Premier League kicks off with 14 clubs

Sudan's Premier League kicked off on Saturday with 14 football clubs. Saturday’s fixtures will have six matches played in Khartoum and in other towns. Title holder Al Hilal will play against Gazirat Al Fil in Al Hilal Stadium, whereas Al Merrikh will face Hilal Kadugli.
