The European Union (EU) will be sending 130 observers to monitor Sudan’s general elections in April; the biggest observation mission committed by the EU to date. Catherine Ashton, Foreign Affairs spokesperson for the EU, said the observers are scheduled to be in Sudan by late February. She added that the team will be led by an EU member of  parliament, who has yet been officially named
