doctors_surgicalstaffThe medical registrars' strike ended on Thursday after the Federal Ministry of Health paid up a large portion of salary arrears. As a goodwill gesture, the striking committee agreed to break strike on the assumption that the remaining arrears will be paid before the 17th of February. Member of the striking committee, Dr. Nahid Muhamed Al Hasan, told Miraya FM that if the Ministry continues to cooperate with the committee there will be no more strikes.  If the two parties fail to reach a compromise, the Permanent Medical Registrars Council will meet on the 17th  to decide on what further measures to take.

The Federal Ministry of Health has been in negotiations with medical colleagues and professors from the striking committee since Tuesday.
