In sports, within CECAFA tournament, Sudan's Al Merrikh football team has beaten Kartleh of Djibouti by six goals to one in a match played on Thursday at Al Merrikh stadium in Omdurman. Meanwhile, Mathare United of Kenya also achieved a victory over Rwanda's Atrako by two-goals-to-one.

ICC launches radio station in Central African Republic |

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has announced that it will launch its first radio outreach program in Sango, Central African Republic next Monday. In a statement released today, the Court said that the Radio Outreach Series called "Understanding the International Criminal Court" is designed to educate the population of the Central African Republic on the role, mandate, operation and the activities of The Hague based tribunal.

Misseriya leader welcomes Abyei co-existence meeting |

The Secretary of Misseriya Union in Khartoum State, Musa Hamdein, has welcomed the recommendations of the Abyei co-existence meeting. Speaking to Miraya FM, Hamdein said that the Misseriya will support any initiative for strengthening the social relations, as long as it is clear and has no hidden agenda.

Salva Kiir: Gaddafi will support independent South Sudan |

Reuters News Agency reported statements from the First Vice President of the Republic and President of the Government of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, in which he said that the Libyan President, Muammar Al Gaddafi, has promised to support South Sudan if it voted for independence in a referendum scheduled to take place in year 2011.
