Misseriya leader welcomes Abyei co-existence meeting |

The Secretary of Misseriya Union in Khartoum State, Musa Hamdein, has welcomed the recommendations of the Abyei co-existence meeting. Speaking to Miraya FM, Hamdein said that the Misseriya will support any initiative for strengthening the social relations, as long as it is clear and has no hidden agenda.

Insecurity & poor transport blamed for census 'disruption' in Central Equatoria |

The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Clement Wani Konga, said that the 5th population census result for the state has been under estimated due to lack of enumerators and political game. In an interview with Miraya FM, Konga blamed both insecurity and poor translportation for the problem.

Oxfam: Violence forces 1.4 million Africans to flee their homes |

The British Humanitarian Organization OXFAM International said that over 1.4 million Africans have been forced to flee their homes so far this year due to significantly increased violence in the continent. In a report released by the organization today, it said that the increasing level of displacements forces five people to flee their homes every minute.

NCP criticizes Gaddafi’s support for 'independent South Sudan' |

The National Congress Party criticized news reports which said that Libyan leader Muammar Al Gaddafi has promised support for South Sudan if the region opted for separation in the scheduled 2011 referendum for self-determination.
