African Union decides against cooperating with ICC over indicted persons

Ashraf Qazi welcomes election postponement

ashraf_qazi.jpgThe Special Representative of the UN Secretary General in Sudan, Ashraf Qazi, has welcomed the postponement of the national elections to April 2010 as recently announced by the National Elections Commission (NEC). Mr Qazi said in a press statement that the revised elections' timetable will provide more time for voter registration, training of staff, in addition to civic and voter education.

ICC launches radio station in Central African Republic

icc.jpgThe International Criminal Court (ICC) has announced that it will launch its first radio outreach program in Sango, Central African Republic next Monday. In a statement released today, the Court said that the Radio Outreach Series called "Understanding the International Criminal Court" is designed to educate the population of the Central African Republic on the role, mandate, operation and the activities of The Hague based tribunal.
